Trusted Vendor Guild (TVG) is an independent professional recognition body that identifies and credentials service businesses meeting a higher standard of quality, integrity, and service. We designed and built the entire organization’s digital presence — from brand identity through a working applicant pipeline, vendor directory, member portal, and payment infrastructure.

The Challenge

  • Service-business buyers are drowning in look-alike vendors who all claim the same things — there’s no widely respected, independent way to spot the ones that actually meet a higher bar.
  • Existing “best of” lists and pay-to-play directories are either bought, gamed, or invisible — so they don’t carry weight with prospects making real purchase decisions.
  • TVG needed more than a credential page. They needed an actual operating system: a way for businesses to apply, a screening flow that produced a defensible decision, a public directory that buyers could trust, and a member portal where recognized vendors could manage their listing and download badge assets.
  • Every piece had to look and feel legitimate — the kind of credential a vendor would proudly cite in proposals and a buyer would trust at a glance.

What We Built

Brand identity built around a trust mark. A premium, classic identity anchored on the gold shield “Official Selection” badge — the asset recognized members display on their site, in proposals, and in pitch decks. Navy and gold palette, serif display type, and a design system that signals authority and longevity rather than the trends-of-the-week SaaS look most credential sites default to.

Custom Astro application on Supabase. Vendorguild.com is a custom-built Astro app with server-side rendering (Node adapter), deployed on Netlify, with a Supabase Postgres backend powering applications, eligibility checks, appeals, vendor profiles, nominations, and content reports. No template, no off-the-shelf directory plugin.

Eligibility check flow. A multi-section eligibility application where a business submits company details, service category, location, reviews, online presence, and ownership signals. Results flow into the back office for review with an evidence-backed scoring pass.

AI-assisted screening. Anthropic’s Claude API is wired into the back-end so the review team gets structured analysis on each applicant — sentiment of public reviews, red flags from web presence, and category fit — rather than starting every evaluation from a blank page.

Public vendor directory. A searchable Recognized Vendors directory filterable by name, city, state, and category. Every listing is a real business that has been independently evaluated and earned the Official Selection credential — no paid placements.

Member portal. Recognized vendors get a private portal to manage their public profile, social links, and listing content, plus self-serve access to their digital badge assets and certificate of recognition.

Membership and payments. A one-membership pricing model, TVG Membership, with checkout, billing, and renewal handling built into the app — no third-party storefront stitched on top.

Nomination flow. A separate vendor nomination form so buyers can put forward businesses they trust, feeding the applicant pipeline from the demand side, not just the supply side.

Hosting, content, and growth. We manage the production deployment and run the ongoing SEO, GEO, and content work to drive both applicant and buyer awareness as the directory grows.
