Project Overview
MacWeb provides bare-metal Mac cloud infrastructure for developers, QA teams, and companies that require reliable access to real Apple hardware. As demand grew, MacWeb needed an ecommerce experience that matched the sophistication of their offering and removed limitations that were holding sales back.
Their existing site only supported purchasing a single product, with a single quantity, tied to one subscription. Managing content and product presentation was also cumbersome, making updates slow and inflexible. The goal was to rebuild both the ecommerce experience and the underlying content architecture to support scale, flexibility, and future growth.
Engagement Summary
Revision Road partnered with MacWeb to completely rebuild the ecommerce and content experience, including:
- A full ecommerce rebuild to support multiple products and multiple quantities in a single checkout
- Subscription logic that allows customers to provision multiple bare-metal Mac machines under one account
- Implemented a redesigned user experience to simplify purchasing complex infrastructure offerings
- A re-architected content management system with a drag-and-drop layout builder for flexible page and product management
- An updated visual design that modernized the brand while improving clarity and usability
- Ongoing development support to evolve the platform as MacWeb’s offerings expand
Key Challenges
- The original checkout flow limited customers to one product and one quantity per order
- Subscription handling was restrictive and did not align with how customers actually buy infrastructure
- Content and product pages were difficult to update and required developer involvement for routine changes
- The site needed to balance technical depth with clarity for less technical buyers
Results & Impact
- A fully rebuilt ecommerce experience that supports real-world purchasing behavior, including multiple products and quantities in a single transaction
- More flexible subscription management aligned with MacWeb’s bare-metal cloud model
- A scalable content management architecture that empowers the MacWeb team to manage pages and products without friction
- A future-proof platform that can support new machine types, pricing models, and offerings as the business grows
- Reduced internal friction by having a single agency of record managing development, strategy, and execution
